When I was a student, graduated from college and my friend took a job as a teacher. His work brought him hundreds of miles from home, so he set up his first apartment. He had little money was left, and most of his furniture to his parents. So I wanted to do a little reminder of our time together and on a budget of a student, I knew that I would be creative.
I went off to the store and bought two white plastic ParsonsCharts>. I took ticket stubs, photographs and brochures from trips we made together and arranged them artfully on the top and the legs of each table. I kept everything in place to cover the surface with clear adhesive plastic. When I finished, I presented a couple of tables for his new home, our time together guestbook.
The tables at the end of my first students came from families of other people's homes. They came from my roommate, my cousinlived near the city, as well as foreign cast-off from the sidewalk that I saved. Yes, maybe he would stop peeling and cracking on the top, but the tables were small tables. When I look scruffy and matching look, not thinking. I had furniture.
When I got married, I realized it was time to buy "real" furniture. We brought a sofa that I have been looking for in a mall, but is marked at the center of discount furniture. My husbandsuggested to visit the furniture store unfinished stop looking in the tables. It 'was placed in all I've seen a couple of beautiful Shaker-style pine tables for $ 30. We stained them a rich mahogany and topped them with layers of satin polyurethane. You could almost say that do not buy it from one of these luxury furniture stores on the opposite side of the city.
When we divorced, got custody of the furniture. But I was ready for something new. I had a better paying job, and Isplurged on a set of tables of new housing: a small square table in rosewood with a fine, almost black beans, and a couple of tables of coordination, a square and another rectangle. Most of the rooms are not designed perfectly balanced, and I thought that these tables are the end of the inspection was part of the furniture designer. And they were beautiful.
Everywhere we went, rosewood tables helped my living room an elegant place to greet visitorsand enjoy a little 'quiet time. In Queen Anne Victorian we returned, I had an unpleasant living room tables, coffee forced me to remove the rosewood table, but in the end has always had a home.
Later I had a room of furniture for a new family of end tables and only one would not work properly. Instead I found a floor lamp with shade in hammered copper, which has been integrated in a small iron table top, large enough to hold a cup of tea. On the other side of theSection, I found a perfect solution. The table has a large head, large enough to hold a lamp and a wooden box that I filled with paperbacks. The table base is a real workhorse. It is modeled after a pharmacy unit, and eight small drawers. They hide coasters, tissue boxes, DVD and CD players, cable controls and remote laptop.
Yes, it does for us, our furniture, but we can tell the story of our lives.
